Seawolves Defeat Kingsmen

ROHNERT, Calif. — The California Lutheran men's tennis team put up a challenge, but couldn't overcome Sonoma State as the Seawolves knocked off the Kingsmen 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the SSU Tennis Courts.
Cal Lutheran had its opportunities as the Kingsmen were put up great fights at the No. 2 singles spot, the No. 6 singles spot and the No. 2 doubles spot.
CLU's Florent Auteil almost pulled out the win at the No. 6 singles spot. He lost the first set 2-6, before bouncing back and claiming the second set 7-5. He lost the third set 3-6 as Sonoma State got the point.
Lucas Tilly had the longest singles match. Both sets he played went to the tiebreaker. SSU won both sets 7-6. The first tiebreaker was 5-0 and the second tiebreaker was 3-0. The Kingsmen got swept in straight sets for all four of the other singles matches.
Dara Kashani and Andrew Tufenkian were close to winning at the No. 2 doubles spot. The set was tied at 7-7 and then SSU won 8-7 as they claimed the tiebreaker 5-0. The Seawolves won the other two doubles sets and claimed the match 9-0.
The Kingsmen (0-7) continue the season Sunday in Oakland, Calif. CLU takes on Holy names at 9 a.m. and then De Anza CC at 1:30 p.m.
